Release prepared by Blakesley Sports MediaFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASERACING FOR WISHES MOVES TO THE DIRT THIS SATURDAY IN BAKERSFIELD BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (May 1, 2015) – After hosting one of the largest events in the history of Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia with the inaugural Racing for Wishes 150, the Racing for Wishes team will now set its attention to Bakersfield Speedway in California for the 5th Annual Make-A-Wish Night.  California’s oldest continually operating dirt track, Bakersfield Speedway is embarking on its 60th season of IMCA-sanctioned competition.  Saturday’s action will include the IMCA Modifieds racing for $1000 to win!

Bakersfield Speedway is the fastest one-third mile dirt track in the West and routinely draws the largest stock car fields in California.  Not only will the Racing for Wishes event include IMCA Modifieds but also Hobby Stocks, American Stocks, Mod Lites, and Jr. & Sr. Mini Dwarfs will hit the track.  The family-friendly night of action will benefit Central Valley Make-A-Wish!

Drivers, teams, and sponsors have joined forces to make wishes come true for children in Kern County.  A variety of gift baskets will be raffled off along with Mini Dwarf drivers and local Make-A-Wish recipients entering the grandstands to pass their helmets for additional donations.

Rookie Ethan Dotson leads the IMCA Modified points while Kevin Collier and Traci Childress are atop the Hobby and American Stock divisions respectively.  Zach Forster is ahead of the pack in the inaugural points season for Mod Lites and the Mini Dwarf points leaders are Mason Ratcliff and J.D. Brown after two months of competition.

Saturday’s events at Bakersfield Speedway are presented by Jeff Thielscher of Racing for Wishes, GoLiveStream.TV, RealFast.TV, Budweiser, and Blakesley Sports Media.

Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.  General admission tickets will be $12 at the gate, with Seniors and Military $10, Kids 6-12 $5, and kids 5 and under are FREE.  Camping is available and parking is always FREE.
